東京灣高速公路多車相撞 兩人死亡Multiple-car collision on Tokyo Bay Expressway leaves two dead

Kyodo News ·2026-10-01

連接千葉與東京的東京灣跨海高速公路發生多車相撞事故,一輛貨車內兩人死亡,公路一度關閉。A multi-vehicle collision occurred on the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line connecting Chiba and Tokyo, resulting in two deaths in a truck, and the highway was temporarily closed.

Two people in a truck died on Thursday after a multivehicle accident on the expressway that crosses Tokyo Bay connecting Chiba and Kanagawa prefectures, authorities said.

The accident on the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line involving four vehicles occurred at around 6:55 a.m. inside the underwater tunnel in Kawasaki, Kanagawa. A semi-trailer truck is believed to have crashed into another truck that was at the rear of a traffic jam.

The Aqua-Line serves as a key link between Chiba, reeling from the aftermath of a recent typhoon that damaged infrastructure and disrupted traffic, and Tokyo and Kanagawa on the opposite side of the bay.

According to police, the male driver of the semi-trailer truck was seriously injured while two other drivers of vehicles involved in the pile-up were slightly injured.

The two lanes from the Chiba side were both closed for nearly nine hours due to the accident.

The 15.1-kilometer Aqua-Line has two lanes in either direction.
